Here’s another way to serve the same-old-boring breakfast. Upgrade and serve a Meal’in’a’bun…..
- 6 Buns
- 6 Eggs
- 1 tbsp Melted butter
- Salt and pepper – to taste
- Sauce layer – ketchup, mayonnaise, sour cream, or mustard.
- Cheese layer – Gouda, Feta, Parmesan, Mozzarella (not processed)
- Vegetables and herbs layers: parsley, dill, basil, bell pepper, tomatoes, green onions, spinach, or any other combination you like.
Hollow out the buns, leaving the crust all around.
Brush a little melted butter in each hole, and add the first layer of choice.
Add the second and third layer and break the egg over the top.
Preheat the oven to 347 (°F) /175 (°C).
Put buns on a greased baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the yolks set to your liking.
Don’t leave just yet. What do we do with all of that scooped-out bread? Waste not… etc.?
There are many things you could do. One idea is to put them on the baking tray and into the oven once the bunneggs are ready and the oven is turned off. Allow the bread to cool then crush to make…. you guessed it…. your home made BREADCRUMBS. yay!!!
